Free Dials and Buttons

I wonder if we can all do each other favour here.  Every time I go looking for buttons, slide switches, gauges etc for my projects – like the Nextion – at least 90% of the so called FREE ICONs and PNGs – by the time you get to it – it’s owned by Getty and Corbis or similar and they want ridiculous amounts of money for them.

Can those who have links to DECENT, free home-control/IOT style icons please put links in here so they’re all in one place…

I found these,,

But they are PSD and I’m afraid GIMP really does not like them – large transparent PNG files like this would be marvelous – the first set of on-off buttons on that page look great – and free but I for one don’t have the tools to turn them into transparent PNG……

  1. Hey Pete, I can see that you are not keen on Adobe’s pricing policy when it comes to PhotoShop, but have you ever considered their subscription model. I have their Creative Cloud Photographers package (https://creative.adobe.com/plans?store_code=gb&promoid=KSPAK) and you get the very latest version of LightRoom and PhotoShop for just over £7 + VAT per month. If you do consider this then it opens up the entire .psd catalogue including these UI kits http://favbulous.com/post/752/63-free-psd-ui-kits-for-quick-mockup. Just a thought…
oops, just realised I posted this in the wrong place, sorry.

  2. If you don’t already use Inkscape, I suggest it. Used it for years with Gimp. Draw in vectors and make png’s…

    1. Yes – actually John, I’d forgotten about it – very limited use but when you do need it – it is excellent. I’ll re-install. Thanks.

  3. And so here is my starter for 10 – didn’t find what I was after but in the meantime I found this site CHOCKER full of completely free LEDS, buttons etc etc .. http://www.clker.com/ It’s going to be download paradise this morning…

    1. Thanks Brian, that’s good and of course I’m aware of that one – but only if you happen to have the somewhat obscenely expensive Photoshop. I’ve always managed with Gimp but for reasons beyond me it is just not having those images otherwise I’d have converted them to transparent PNG myself – anyone else up for that?
