Firstly take a quick look at one of my blog entries from way back from August 2020 – the Blitzwolf BW-S16 75W Fast Charger cost at the time (and I think still is) something like 56 Euros from Banggood (I hesitate to convert that to other currencies due to the present dire state of the UK pound). Well, it’s now 2 years later and Blitzwolf have released the BW-S25 75W Fast Charger as featured in the photo herein.
So – what has changed? For starters, one of the normal USB outputs has disappeared and in it’s place, another USB-C output. The price has also dropped dramatically – right now the Banggood site is showing something like 32 Euros. For looks, there is little to choose between the two, the BW-S25 looks good and remains a handy fit for a desk corner (I don’t have many corners left).
Specs include 100-240v in, one of the USB-A ports offers variable voltage for fast charging as are all three USB-C ports. The remaining two USB-A ports are 5v@2A. The USB-C outputs are QC3/PD compatible.
The unit comes with a 1.2m mains power lead and (in my case) a 2-pin EU plug. So – why keep a normal USB output? I for one find these handy for little projects using small processor boards like, for example, Raspberry Pi (though I’ve never actually had a problem feeding PD output to the RPI). As I tell my wife frequently, you can never have too many power outputs.
