I recently wrote about GL-iNet’s Comet KVM here. The Comet Pro is their latest effort – a much larger unit which no longer uses an APP or relies on obvious third-party software – having it’s own web UI.
I’m currently on BETA software for this and it doesn’t seem to like my target Windows 11 PC, a Beelink. Anyway, here it is on my somewhat messy desk..
I first powered up the unit with firmwaer v1.60 BETA – not a good start. The display worked once then started to turn green and flash to grey – with sound being very much overloaded. I contacted GL-iNET and the very next morning they came back with a suggestion for an update.
I downloaded the local upgrade file” from their website and took about 3 minutes to install. No change however. I’d be inclined to blame the machine but the same Beelink works with both the original Comet KVM and JetKVM.
Here’s the box – in which came the Comet Pro, power supply, EU and UK adaptors and a full set of leads.
