Is it just me or do others have the same problem? I’ve looked up EU and UK mains extension leads as I have lots of smart plugs, chargers and similar to test and use. In almost all cases I end up having to sacrifice every other socket as the smart plugs will just not fit next to each other, especially on EU? extensions. (and while I’m on, why don’t EU extensions have those handy mounting holes on the back that UK extensions have)…
You would think that some extension manufacturers would have twigged to this and put wider gaps between the sockets – but no – at least not that I can find on Amazon or AliExpress. Anyone else come across this?

Its not only UK and EU plugs! We have the same problem here in Australia. However, you can buy extension devices that have increased space between the sockets to allow wider devices next to each other. Of course, they are more expensive, and larger! You do have to wonder why the developers cant get it right (and the AU standard is used in parts of Asia, too)
Hi Peter
Yes, I’ve seen this, and yes it’s annoying.
Have you tried the ones with individually switched outlets? I think the sockets are further apart to accommodate the switch. I haven’t tried the usual smart switches, but I’ve got a ENERGENIE switch next to a large power brick which would not go together on a non-switched extension lead.
